Orlando is world-famous for its theme parks. Disney World was one of the first, but since then dozens of amazing parks full of rides, exhibitions, games and more have popped up, making Orlando one of the world’s foremost family destinations.

Great memories are made in Orlando – but believe it or not it’s been 20 years since a new major theme park opened in Orlando. Sure parks have unveiled countless innovative new rides and attractions, and occasionally even expanded to incorporate great new attractions (Harry Potter’s Wizarding World comes to mind) but it’s been two decades since Orlando has had an entirely new experience.
That’s all changing right now because Universal Studios is currently constructing Epic Universe, a new park that will be almost double the size of their beloved existing theme park at 750 acres. We know there will be fantastic rides and attractions, as well as shops, restaurants and so much more.

Universal has been tight-lipped about what will be featured at this park, but given that work has already begun on this massive undertaking we know that they are putting significant backing behind the project.

One particular tantalizing rumor is that Universal has negotiated the rights to feature characters from Nintendo in an attraction called “Super Nintendo World.” Imagine being able to participate in interactive rides with Mario, Link, Zelda, Pikachu and all the rest of their incredibly memorable cast of characters! Kids have dreamed about participating in a “real world” video game since Nintendo burst on the scene in the 80s; if this is a part of Epic Universe then we know Universal will have a huge hit on their hands!

Other rumored attractions at the park include experiences based on How to Train Your Dragon, a Fantastic Beasts expansion to Wizarding World, rides and exhibits based on the classic Universal monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein, The Creature From The Black Lagoon)  and more.

All of Orlando is holding their breath, excited to find out what Universal will unveil. We know it’s going to be incredible!
